![]() They mean well, but they're convinced, incorrectly, that it's not Logic Pro. And if you do get them, be prepared for the 'if not everyone gets them then they're not a bug, and it must be your system' crowd. I get them 3 or 4 times each for the first 3 or 4 projects I play. I've tested for 4 months now, on multiple machines with multiple interfaces and multiple audio configurations, and I can't make them go away. "CORE AUDIO OVERLOADS on 3 track songs!! You either get them or you don't. And then a quick return-return-spacebar and I'm rolling again with no trouble whatsoever." The only time it ever happens for me now is sometimes when I first press play on my very first project after a cold boot with a significantly-sampled software instrument. But my experience has been that it happens WAY LESS in Logic 8 than in Logic 7. "It still exists, for some people much more than others. I'm taking a break right now from recording just to calm down. bug? I'm happy with 7 except for this issue. "Curious if anyone who has updated to Logic 8 has seenĪ fix to the dreaded "disc too slow" "Core Audio overload". *rim shot*Īll those people seem to be clueless about the infamous processor overload bug that made Logic 8.00 and 8.01 unusable for many users - which may or may not be fixed for everyone with 8.02.ĭid I see something about "electrical interference"? : )ĭisturbingly here are people complaining about the same thing with Logic 7: It seems like such a common setup and that was partly my reason for selecting it, as stability is paramount. I'm hoping someone has a cure for my sick setup and would be gracious enough to assist. I bought this $3,000+ worth of gear specifically for playing live in the fashion described above. I've looked around various forums, taking the advice to unjournal the drive (didn't resolve the problem), however most of the posts are related to the use of an external hard-drive or to recording. At this rate it would happen once every other show. For this to happen to us onstage would be an obvious disaster. I have never had any clicks, pops or skips in audio, just this occassional halt. The CPU meter is obviously not showing any stress.same the with HD meter, though I've never been looking at them when the error occurs to see what happens at that moment. Immediately after this happens I close the error box and play the project from the beginning and it runs to the end without a problem. This has happened to us twice now, each time in a different project (never the one with the soft synth). On several occasions While practicing (luckily haven't taken this on the road yet) I have gotten the error "Disc too slow or system overload". The drummer and myself (on guitar) play along while the 5 AIFF files are sent to various amps onstage. I'm using no soft synths (accept for one song) and no effects. Problem = I'm using Logic 8 to playback project files onstage, each with no more than 5 AIFF files. USB/MIDI keyboard = Alesis Photon (used for one song with a soft-snyth) Machine = MBP, 2.5 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, 2 GB RAM, 250 GB Hard Drive (less than 50% full, set to "unjournaled"), AirPort off. ![]()
